Museu Carmen Thyssen Andorra

The Museu Carmen Thyssen opens its doors on 16 March 2017 on the ground floor of the former Hotel Valira in Escaldes-Engordany. This Museum, one of Andorra’s foremost cultural spaces, offers annual temporary exhibits with works from the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection.

Andorra Telecom is the Museum's principal partner. It has funded the four interactive screens that contextualise the works of art and artists from the temporary exhibitions that are held there.

Three of these screens are 46 inches and located in the hall. At any point, visitors can use them both to obtain complementary information or to enlarge works and focus on the artist's strokes in detail. The remaining 52-inch screen is located in the EduCarmen Thyssen space, a separate room where educational activities and workshops that complement the exhibits are held.

Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil‘s exclusive performances have become Andorra's most important summer tourist and cultural event, with some 100,000 people attending.

As the organization's technological partner, Andorra Telecom provides various landline and Internet services, as well as ensuring regular communications and connectivity to ensure the event goes smoothly.

The Canadian circus troupe first came to Andorra in the summer of 2013, in conjunction with the Andorra Tourism Board. With its Scalada show, a custom-made performance just for the country, the troupe livened up the summer nights of July. The Parc Central is the setting for Scalada, a show which is reinvented year after year and that brings in 5,000 spectators every night.

Land Art

Together with many national institutions, Andorra Telecom sponsors the II edition of Andorra Land Art 2017, a biennial of this artistic movement that closely associates art and the landscape in which it is displayed.

The Biennial shows some fifty works of art from artists from eleven countries, who use their pieces to acknowledge the value of Andorra’s cultural and natural heritage. The pieces are distributed among four large axes: the Path of Human Rights, the Wool Factory, the Lookouts and the Open Zone. With its superb natural landscapes, Andorra is a perfect setting for this show.

Andorra Land Art is held from 28 April to 28 August.

Language Volunteer Programme

The Language Volunteer programme is one of the pillars of the language policy of the Government of Andorra. Promoted by the Department of Language Policy of the Government of Andorra, it has the full support of Andorra Telecom.

Language Volunteering is a language participation project consisting of bringing Catalan speakers into contact with speakers of other languages who want to reinforce their learning of Catalan. This is a non-academic, easy-going way to learn how to express oneself and communicate in Catalan.

The objective is for the learner to maintain an extended conversation in Catalan, not to give or receive a class. The pairs are formed according to schedule availability and the parish chosen by the volunteers and the language learners.
